Hello friends,

We want to personally welcome you to Veterans & Young Farmers Alliance.

VYFA was created because we kept seeing the same pattern: veterans and young farmers stepping into agriculture with passion and commitment—but without the practical support needed to survive once they got there.

Too many are encouraged to “take the leap” without being given the financial education, guidance, or community support that makes long-term success possible. Instead of tools, they’re often handed inspiration. Instead of preparation, they’re left to figure it out alone.

That reality is what brought us together to build VYFA.

We believe agriculture can be deeply meaningful. For veterans, it can offer purpose, healing, and a renewed sense of mission. For young farmers, it can be a path toward independence and stewardship. But without honest education and realistic support, farming can quickly become overwhelming—financially, emotionally, and relationally.

VYFA exists because survival matters.

We are building this alliance with intention—starting with practical, real-world education that addresses the areas where farmers are most vulnerable. Our first workshop, Finance & Budgeting for Farm Survival, reflects that commitment. No one should lose their farm, their home, or their stability simply because they were never taught how to navigate irregular income, startup costs, or basic compliance.

This work isn’t about shortcuts or promises of easy success. It’s about clarity, sustainability, and community—so farmers can stay rooted long enough to grow.

If you are a veteran transitioning into agriculture, a young farmer finding your footing, or a supporter who believes in protecting the people who feed our communities, we want you to know:
